Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens

March 9, 2026 by Rob Last

As an Amazon Associate, TechVideos.net earns from qualifying purchases.. This Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm lens is an excellent choice after you’ve been using the kit lenses for a while. It’s fast 1.8 lens is a welcome improvement and the quick locking auto focus system is amazing when compared to the kit zoom lenses. It’s important to understand that this lens’ 35mm focal length is effectively a 50mm lens in the Nikon FX format. For DX camera owners, this lens provides a view similar to what the unaided human eye perceives. It’s a normal, standard lens. The aspherical element minimizes coma and other lens aberrations, improving image quality. The Super Integrated Coating (SIC) makes excellent light transmission efficiency possible and assures true color consistency. The Silent Wave Motor (SWM) enables fast, accurate and quiet autofocusing. In my next video, I’ll explore the Nikon DX series with comparisons to the Nikon FX lens series. I’ll also present some easy lens auto focusing system tests and other lens tests that anyone could do.
