The Rat Rig 14″ Single Rail V-Slider

March 9, 2026 by Rob Last

As an Amazon Associate, TechVideos.net earns from qualifying purchases. (Can’t find Rat Rig brand on Amazon any more.) This video explores an affordable approach to more creative photography, featuring the Minolta SRT 201 SLR film camera and the Nikon D3200 DSLR. It highlights the Rat Rig 14‑inch Single Rail V‑Slider, which uses eight high‑quality bearings to deliver smooth, consistent motion—without the sticky feel of friction‑based sliders. The Delrin wheels provide an exceptionally smooth glide and support a high load capacity. Constructed entirely from stainless steel and anodized aluminum, the slider contains no plastic components. The 14‑inch Single Rail V‑Slider brings clean, linear motion to DSLR or small camcorder video shoots. Its aluminum V‑slot rail supports loads up to 26.5 pounds and can be used with or without the optional leg kit. While the leg kit is not included here, it will be explored in a future setup. The rail includes both 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threaded center mounting holes for use with a single tripod and is compatible with Rat Rig’s optional motorization kits. The video also demonstrates how a Neewer black aluminum alloy quick‑release plate adapter, with 1/4″-3/8″ screw and built‑in bubble level, is sometimes used in combination with the Rat Rig slider.
